Changes from reccomendation

ROUGH CUT TO FINAL MUSIC VIDEO

From the first public viewing of our video at the sixth form creative arts evening; the group has edited the music video from recommendations made by audience feedback.

The recommendations included, editing and adding transitions in the video, editing brightness/contrast levels, reinforcing imagery of the lyrics and tightening the stories narrative.

Changes made, for example;

• We chose to fulfill imagery of the lyrics by filming at Braodstairs beach
• We added an extra character, to play the 'girls new boyfriend'. We done this in order to tighten the narrative (by showing the girl moving on)
• We  added transitions such as, fades to black and cross fades, in order to create variation and suspense alongside the lyrics.

Broadstairs; these images support our final stage of filming at the beach in Broadstiars.
We chose to film at the beach in order to refer to lyrics in the song 'do you still pick up the seashells on taht pebble beach'

First rough cut of video

 

Sixth form Creative Arts evening;

allowed us to showcase the first rough edit of

our video. Let an audience, of 100 people (age range 11-70) to view our video and feature in an audience feedback booth.

What did this dennotative and connotative Feedback tell us?

• Locations needed to be changed, to inforce the imagery of the lyrics - we accomplished this by re shooting at Broastairs beach.
• Smarten up areas where the camera is distorted.
• Tighten narrative structer, the girl moving on (maybe shots with anotehr male)
• Include more close ups
• Add video transitions

 

Audience feedback, question sheet. Targeting age ranges 14 -17 year olds. This allowed us to highlight changes that were suggested to be made in our video, along with recognising what our target audience wanted.





 



 



Sixth stage, Filming



Filming at Shooters Hill, Greenwich; we chose to film at this location
because it showed clear night views of London refers to the 'Thinking of me' lyrics
'Winter time in London' .





We also chose this location because we could film props relevant
to the song and its genre, such as London, Red buses,
sunset-which refers to the love and romance theme.



Fifth stage, Filming



Erith Pier, we chose this location because it support the nautical theme
which Olly murs portrays in his lyrics 'remember when that crab came up and pinched your feet'.
The water, waterside hut houses, boat and railings reinforce this.



Fourth stage, Filming

White Screen'  We chose to film with the white screen,
in order to create a scene where Olly Murs is almost dreaming and 'Thinking' 
 about the girl. The white screen portrays the girl as innocent and naive,
(we wanted this o refer to the chorus 'Thinkign of me')

Third Stage; Filiming

The woodlands location was used to portray the denotation of jolly lyrics, and also to bring out the
'cheeky chap' character of Olly Murs. We mainly filmed, silly and playing around scenes in this location, to go along with the upbeat tempo of the track.
